I need fuel! Help with fuel pump relay...
Background...
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-question.html
I just want to run a jumper from an ignition source (another relay) to the fuel pump relay. I believe I just need 12+ to the 87 relay pin on the fuel pump relay. Is that right? What nearby source can I use for an ign 12+? This will be temporary until I can figure out the right way to do it.
When I turn the key on, I do get the 1 second relay click, then nothing. If I get the relay to click, is there anything else stopping from me getting fuel, or is it a sure thing that if the relay is energized I will get fuel? Thanks!

Follow-up: What I really want to do is just run the fuel pump relay trigger from the ECM to the fuel pump relay myself, to bypass any of the propane system stuff that is disconnected/missing. I'd just run a jumper direct between the two. What wire from the ECM triggers the fuel pump relay? Does it send a ground to the 86 pin on the relay?

According to the wiring diagram:
Fuel Pump relay coil "Red" lead has 12 volts standing from Fuse 24; 30 amp; in the power distribution box.
Fuel Pump relay coil "Lt Blue/Orange" lead goes to PCM and is grounded when turned on. Ground this lead, and the relay should operate.
Power to the fuel pump is supplied to the relay on a "Red/Lt Green" lead from Fuse 19; 20 amp; in the power distribution box. It leaves the relay on a "Dk Green/Yellow" lead to the Inertia switch. Leaves the inertia switch on a "Pink/Black" lead to the fuel pump.
Hope this helps some.
Be careful not to bypass too many safety's

Apparently, the propane brain and associated wiring are after the inertia switch, and there was a break somewhere that I didn't feel like chasing. I suppose the relay was working fine as-is. So I took apart the underhood Power Distribution box, and found that green/yellow wire. I cut it, and using wiring that already existed for the disabled propane system in the bed, wired about a 12ga wire directly to the pump. Not the way I necessarily wanted to do it, but it works. Thank you very much for your input!
