Gun storage in the cab, take two.

Recognizing that folks use their trucks for a wide variety of purposes, and recognizing that firearms are legally permitted in these United States, can we please try again to have a civil thread (with photos) about the legal storage and transport of various types of guns, (especially long guns) in Ford pickup trucks?

Personally, I'm particularly interested in seeing photos of long-gun storage systems behind the seat of standard-cab pickups.

One idea would be to buy a good quality aluminum hardside case and bolt it down under your rear seat.

back in the early 90's i had an eggcrate foam filled aluminum box made with tool box style locks that bolted to the floor of the cab behind the seat for long guns, and a smaller steel gun case with a keypad lock that bolted into the driver side cab corner that would hold 2 handguns. it would hold the 8 inch barrel 44 mag, or the 45-06 smith and a small 380 semiauto

Just make sure to disclose this information to the nice police officer when you get pulled over after robbing that bank.

The dentsides actually had a factory optional hard gun case that bolted to the back of the cab. I don't think it would be too difficult to replicate something like that, maybe even with just a hard case that you drill and mount.

I'd be interested to see what you come up with. I very rarely need to transport my guns anymore, but it would be neat to see something custom fabbed, since most hard cases aren't long enough for my Mosin-Nagant.
