2.5 ton GMC Military axle/ case issues

Alright I know this doesn't belong here, but you guys have been pretty helpful in the past and I need some info... I have a 77 F150 on 20" lift and tractor tires with the GM 2.5 ton axles under it. I'm told this front axle rotates backwards so in order to run it in stock form I also need the military t case so it's all installed and now no matter what order I put the levers on the case in it will never engage the front axle rear works in 2 positions and the other 2 are neutral. I'm new to the trasfer case stuff so i have no idea whats going on here but there are 2 pins that slide in and out in the front of the case with only 2 positions: in, and out. Can anybody tell me whats going on with it or at least what model the case is so I can look it up on my own? I need this truck in 10 days for a local mud bog and I'd greatly appreciate some help guys. Thanks in advance!

What transfer case? A GMC Military? Like this M135?

1952 GMC M135

Axles like this?

IIRC, those TCs are "full time" and operate on an "overrunning clutch" principle. Once the rear wheels slip, the front axle engages.

Again, IIRC, the only controls to the TC were for PTO's, to drive the winch or hydraulic pumps etc.

Or is your TC an older twin stick type?

Read down here about flipping the front axle around to overcome the rotation issue, will make more sense to you methinks...

This dude is running those axles, maybe you can find some info on his site or call him and tie him up for an hour asking for free advice....

Axles like that yes, but the transfer case not so much I dont think.... Similar but not the same. I'll try to get a pic on here tomorrow but im not having good luck with that right now... Uh if it operates on that overrunning clutch principle, something is broken cuz i had it pretty stuck in 2wd and the front never engaged :-(
