I have a 2001 f250 4x4 with warn premium manual locking hubs and awhile ago I had issues with my transfercase not engaging and the light not coming on, I could restart my truck a couple times then it would work. Last night I was driving home, truck in 2wd and the 4x4 light would flicker on the dash then stay on, it did this for awhile and now it is stuck on. The ESOF switch is in 2wd. When I turn the key on now the 4x4 light is still on and I can hear the transfercase motor engage and disengage a few times. Does anyone know what could possibly cause this and how to fix it? Is there a sensor on the transfer case that could cause this?

 

either I am blingd> or it is not in my prints hereat home< I will have to look tomorrow

 

So I figured it out. It was the transfer case motor assembly. Swapped it out with a new one and everything is functioning properly.
