I'm from North central Illinois and I found my 78 250 on ebay. It was an Arizona truck that a guy from Des Moines Iowa had bought and driven there. I am 4 hours from Des Moines. He even met me halfway for delivery. I would have driven the 4 hours to trailer it home. I paid $1100 for my Ranger Lariat Trailer Special and am tickled to have it.

I've always been known as a scrounger. From my days at the firehouse till now with older trucks and Cub Cadets. Wander back roads looking behind barns and in the weeds[from the road]. Don't ever be afraid to stop and ask if you see somethin you like. Thats how I found the guy with 13 IH pickups and beds, cabs, doors and whatever. Most from the west coast. Made a friend. I asked a pile of questions, which he gladly answered. When his barn was flooding after a huge rain, he called me to help him move his stuff to a dry area. 5 hours later we had everything up and safe. He gave me totes full of NOS parts and two mint doors for my 74IH 200. Pays to be nice and pays to scrounge!

There's a guy who has a part time business locating rust free trucks and bringing them to the midwest for resale. His prices are high but his trucks are very nice. Rustfreeclassics is the name...he operated via a website. I'm not an affiliate...merely a former satisfied customer. Indianapolis is his home base.
