And that is the correct ford blue. It was used from 66-80
Up untill 1983 actually. 1983 is a half and half year when they started switching to Ford Gray.

Well, you should know that I plan on putting a new body on it next year. I might get a rust free box if i can find one earlier though. Mine is TRASHED.. its looks pretty ok in the pics though.

To stop the rust.. I cut it all out using a die grinder. Then i sand blasted out all the holes I made. I stuffed the holes with as much fiberglass as i could get in there to make it solid. I proceeded to grind and fiberglass.. and grind and fiberglass till there we no air bubble holes or imperfections. Little bit of putty was used and presto. I plan on buying a set of fender flares to protect my repairs as well as rubber undercoating the backs of the repairs to keep the gunk out. They look mint, here hoping it lasts. I have a friend who will need some fenders for his new project. He's not as hung up on having "rust free" things as I am.

That is a alot of time and effort to try to fix fenders you will be replacing. You should of just replaced them and been done with it. It is a shame you are not closer, I have a couple i would of been willing to part with

Just goes to show, those of us who preach that the holes don't make it weaker under *normal* conditions are correct. A crash isn't "normal"......

The frame isn't the problem. It's your front suspension.

I used to hate my swiss cheese frame, until I learned more about them. Now I like it..........Can't say the same if I ever get in an accident though.

I tell you guys, I was sure happy to see all that lovely black paint that was still on the frame. The guy had 2 hydraulic tanks mounted under the box and luckly... they leaked! and coated everything fo god knows how long. The front tank and they fuel lines look like new.

What do you guys know about wind sheild trims? I have the kind where its all chrome in the front and it doesnt seal up very good or its in wrong. Is there such thing as a front seal which is similar to the rear glass? I dont want the chrome in the front i want the rubber.
