My Ford Emblem is bleeding
Never in my life have I had a vehicle emblem start peeling. But my front and rear Big oval ford emblems are looking like crap. I saw where someone had used paint thinned and polished up the aluminum, which is growing on me.
What other options or fixes have you guys done? Don't really wanna buy OEM unless I gotta.
Almost looks like clear coat starting to peel. I cut some of it off the rear emblem thinking I could save it but the paint looks like a nasty blue with that "plastic" layer cut off.

Gotta love that search function. My front oval too is starting to look a little worse for wear after catching the brunt of a stone hurled off of the back tire of a vehicle I was following.

I have been dealing with the same problem. My rear badge lost its overlay completely. I wanted something different, not to mention, OEM's are about $40.00 and I have a hard time paying a company for the opportunity to advertise their product.
There is a guy that customizes badges (with your trucks color as the background). Looks good but --- $80.00 each. I would drop the bucks, but not until I see the quality of work.

While killing some time over the weekend, I pulled the (bad) badge off of my tailgate - bondo'ed and painted w/ factory color just to see. Did not look to good on the tailgate, so I swapped it to the grill. Looks good but I am not sure that it is the look I want.
There is a lot of cr*p out there, I might spend the $160.00 to get what I want. Thank God for old age and patients.

It is a double sided adhesive. It will be on there pretty good(obviously). The guy that changed mine out used a heat gun to heat up the emblem and the surrounding area so it would come off easier.

I am glad to hear someone else having the same problem. I have a 2007 and it started "peeling" inside about 37,000 miles. The dealer wanted about $60 for a new one but offered to do it free if I paid $161 labor to replace the odomoter light bulb. I have never heard of the Ford emblem peeling in my life in any amount of time. I guess I could go to a salvage yard and get one. <sigh>
