I did...about 20 seconds after I noticed it...but you quoted the post before I did, so...

I read every post after I post them...My laptop has two keys that are missing the plastic buttons, so I gotta bear down on the remains.

Sometimes this occurs: aaaaaaaa and/or eeeeeeeee. So, I gotta edit.

1966 Ford F100 Ranger VIN

Hi -

I have my eye on a Ford truck that appears to have the optional Ranger bucket seats. Is there a unique number on the VIN tag that will identify the truck as a factory Ranger? I did not see the Ranger option listed in the factory Ford shop manuals.

Thanks!
Dan M.

The number you are looking for will be the body code, it will be a letter followed by 81, example T81 would be a Ranger with black seats. For 1966 it should be either T=Black U=Parchment (off white) V=Red. The Rangers are listed in the Ford prices and specifications book and also in sales brochures. I have never seen then listed in the maintenance manuals.

1966 Ford F100 Ranger VIN

Thanks Michelle! I checked out the VIN number and verified that it is a legit 1966 Ford F100 "Ranger" Custom Cab. I bought it and pick it up tonight!

Thanks for your help.

That is good news, I would like to see as many as possible of these trucks be saved. Be sure and shoot me an e-mail as soon as you pick it up with all your info, so we can get it registered

I had been having trouble getting on my website to make changes and do regular maintenance. After much complaining and getting it sorted our several times I thought things was home free. When I started having problems again I finally threw my hands up and called and told them to take it down that I was not going to pay for it any more. I may do another website with another vendor at some point and redo the some of the pages that was on the site among them the Ranger page.

Yes, but it is a short list. You are the only one with H81 that I know of so far. So far I had not passed your info to Michelle, but we are talking to one another now. This is what I have for you.
