Love the new forum for Big Trucks

As an owner of a big Ford I was especially pleased to see this forum. I own a 1967 N 950 D. It has a 220 Cummins engine and thirteen speed transmission and is totally restored. Over the years I have owned several other big Fords including a CLT 9000 cab over and three L series Fords.

Hi Michelle. I've looked at your web page - lots of good stuff there. I have a '63 N 600.

I am curious, were you able to find a single rear to match the capacity of the tandem or has the truck been "downsized"?

You would have to downsize to go from tandem to single axle
the lightest tandems were rated at 30k lbs from years back and the heaviest popular single is rated at 24k lbs

My truck was originally a 50,000 pound GVW truck with a Hendrickson rears. It was very harsh riding and I drive the truck to a lot of shows, thus the reason for going to a singel axle air ride. The rear cut off that i installed is from a 04 International. It is a rockwell three ninety one. It rides almost as good as my 250 Super Duty. I have two semi trailers I pull with it and the only thing I haul is my own cars, so the singel axle is no problem for me. The axle is rated for 20,000 lbs.

Glad you guys have found my site. I have put a lot of work into it over the years. I have reciently added some new pages to it. I have a new page devoted to the 65, 66 F-100 Ranger. If you know of anyone that has a 65 or 66 Ranger please direct them to my site so they can register their truck in the Ranger registry.
