I have a 2002 Explorer that won't go into park unless you let it roll for a few inches. started happening once in a while, now all the time. Like the parking pawls are stuck or something. Think this is a transmission issue?any ideas?

 

Have you checked the brake pedal position switch? Have someone stand behind your car when it won't go into park and press on the brake. If the brake light doesn't go on then your switch is bad.

 

........or the fuse. See if activating the brake-shift interlock override on the bottom of the steering column allows you to shift into park.
