Anyone have wood??

Okay... y'all get your minds out of the gutter!

I asked this in the New Mexico chapter, but I thought I would post it here too.

Any of you ladies or gentlemen think you can hook me up with any desert ironwood for some grips?

I know it's as plentiful there as oak is here... but you can't get it here... and when you do, it costs a bloody fortune! It can be cut up fairly small, so it would ship in a fairly small package.

I'm more than happy to pay you for your effort.

perhaps some of our valley members will have access to some.

Well, I really appreciate it, but I've got more Mesquite than I know what to do with!

So Ironwood grows at low elevation? I'd sure love to get me some... it's really pretty wood.

I will keep my eyes and ears open. I know I see lots of stuff made out of Ironwood down in Mexico, are you looking to make pistol grips? perhaps buy something in Mexico and cut it up?

Yeah, those aren't too bad... still retail price, but still cheaper than it is here.

And yes, I'm wanting to make some grips out of it. It's pretty stuff.

I'm on the lookout for ironwood and snakewood.

You're a good man Bill!

Here is a website describing the tree in case you don't know how to find it... trust me, I wouldn't know it from an oak tree!

lol.... was just making sure!

Well then Sir Smartypants... if you happen to find a downed tree that has any burl on it... that would be great! I just assume you know what a burl looks like on the outside of a tree?
