hood

I just got back from looking at some cabs. Got word that a man 'bout 30 miles from me had 3 cabs for a 50 and he would take $100 each. I got there and I couldn't use anything off of them, but I did pick up a hood with only one quarter size rust thru on the pass side. Gave him $50 for it. Then he took us in his shop to see the toys. Two 50 f1's at various stages, a "2ton " as he called 50, a 39 ford pickup complete just needed to be assembled, 55 chevy truck, 2 50 chevy cars, 63 impala, a BIG old oldsmobile all orginal. He must have had about 10 or so projects in two different buildings. It was just awesome to see all the stuff he had. I think he said he was 77 years old. Great collection of toys.

No I don't. He said maybe I just need to pick one and finish it and then move on to something else.

Some of us do finish projects . Completed a 1974 Dodge Van for the ISCA World of wheels car show circiut in 1983 . That feeling of accomplishment was awesome .Did very well with it in shows and ISCA competition . Hdd 40 1st place results by the time I was 40 in '92 .
The irredecent orange /gold pearl with candy apple tangerine flames paint job was so bright sun glasses were almost required to view it . Had 26 yds of orange crushed velvet in a diamond tuck pattern interior with 1382 buttons . I know for I made all of them & they were all real .
A 1971 balanced/ bluepinted 340 with around 400 h.p. powered it . Ran 14:30 in the 1/4 mi. It weighed 4300 lbs.The only things I did not do were the chrome plating ( even the drive shaft ,trans pan , oil pan ,pedal assembly and freeze plugs were chrome ) , the paint and balance the rotating assembly .I had major input /final word in the design of the flames These are pics of pics . All I have left
I had some of the most memorable times of my life with this vehicle .The places we trucked to , the most outrageous parties & sights one only could appreciate by being there and some things you would not believe . Alot of good friends met and awards won . It was traded in on a 1993 Dakota in '93 with all the tricks .Still have it / 46k miles on it . It is one of 100 made in '93 in the silver /white fade color and the specific options . Under the hood is a Magnum 318 and it WILL haul the mail .
