87 F-250 fuel sending unit where to buy?

I've check all my local stores NAPA, AZ, Advance etc. They either do not have or cannot verify the item will fit my truck. The truck has the 351 (5.8) factory 4-barrel carb, mechanical fuel pump and duel fuel tanks driver side rail and rear between the rails (19 gal each I believe). Has anyone purchased a fuel sending unit that fit and if so where and how much? It seams 86 and eariler are readily available. Thanks in advance.

My local Ford dealer said the 87 model with 351 fuel sending unit is obsolete. A dealer in New York has one but is over $200. I'm reevaluating my problem. Does anyone know what the bench check proceedure are for the sending unit? I.e. what ohm radings for full & empty float positions? I have the rear tank unit out. What about the tank select switch in the cab? Any ideas on checking it?

Can`t be much help but you could try broncograveyard.com or try partsguyed.com for one. Don`t know what the readings should be but if you connect a meter you should get a smooth sweep on it from empty to full. It might just be a broken wire in the little coil which you could solder.

sending unit

www.lmctruck.com has one listed for 87 5.8, 19 gallon, for 169.95. Number in book is 43-4162. I bought one from them some time back for the back tank on my 87 F150 and no problems so far.
