k and n

hi all is putting a k and n air filter a waste of time or will i be glad i did it

stay away from k&n on these new trucks. the oil tends to mess up the maa air flow sensor and fine dust gets through and clogs the throttle body. stick with a dry filter

So what are the dry filter options?

I think Volant and aFe have dry filters but with aFe you have to get the Cold Air Intake kit to be able to mount the filter.

Is the same true for the previous generation (2004-08)? Because I have had the K&N filter since I got the truck and it has been great, cleaned it twice now and have had no problems.

Since a dry filter is the best option, is a NAPA Gold as good as an OEM filter?

i use a afe pro dry filter very nice and easy to clean

It is an issue for most modern vehicles....

While some people get away with using a k&N in newer vehicles.....alot of people don't have good luck with them. And.....they're just isn't much of an advantage for them....

I was looking at these last week and debating ordering it. It's good to see that someone else is happy with it. I wonder how long they would last? Life of the vehicle?
