Started the day today at 5am and came back home at 6:45pm. Made three stops along the way. First in Bakersfield, then Fresno, then Crows Landing to pick up the 51/52 bed.
Luckily, the older lady that owned the bed had a working forklift that the neighbor kid knows how to operate. Not sure I'd be up to the task of loading the bed with a massive homebuilt rear bumper.
Loaded and ready to head home. The front portion is occupied by four gas pumps, a pre-WWII Coca Cola ice chest in the front and an "A" frame Texaco oil can display rack in the rear.
I also found this 16" x 5" wide (5.5 x 5 bolt pattern) in the lady's yard. She let me have it. I asked her if she had any more, but no luck. This was the only one she had.
Needless to say, with the loss of one hour today, I'm very tired as I type this.

LOL....
Last weekend I did something similar. I left Albuquerque at 4:30pm heading north. Made it to Denver about 10:30 and slept for a few hours. Bright and early in the morning I loaded up a whole truck bed full of Jeepter Commando parts and hit the road south making it home by 4:30 that afternoon.
It was a good trip, I bought a good windshield and frame and some tailights, then he gave me a complete roof assy with good glass and headliner bows, a spare rear hatch, a good dash pad, ignition switch, extra wiring harness, Jeep medallion for the grill, and front and rear spring packs.

I got a great deal on the gas pumps and a decent deal on the bed. There was more to the gas pump collection, a lot of smaller items, that I grabbed last weekend before getting the pumps this past weekend.
Anyone interested in a gas pump for your garage?

Julie , acquired a stock ribbed bumper from another FTE member who lives in the Fla. . panhandle 2 yrs. ago for the stock truck under const. We agreed upon the price of $100.00 and the 4 braces came with it ! What a deal . After media blast , epoxy primer , some minor filling and satin black paint it is ready for installation .
During the search for a rear bumper I sold a heater boot to a guy in Utah . He had 3 rear bumpers but did not want to sell any.I think they would fit in a casket . Good luck to him .
