In all honesty, you would do better to keep the truck that you have considering you won't be able to get a v10 in that setup again 2011 on.

Of COURSE! I mean, there's NO WAY a 385 HP engine with a 6-speed auto would pull better than a 310 HP tied to a 4-speed!

Right?

Right?
Your assuming that he is pulling something. I don't know if he is or isn't. If he isn't then 310 tied to a 4 speed would do just fine. Also, how much better is better? Just because there is an increase of what 75hp at the flywheel, doesn't really mean that you are going to feel that much more at the trailer pulling.

The irony is that that 385 hp tied to a 6 speed still can't haul better then 325 tied to a 5 speed. Plus I really don't go by HP numbers as much when considering towing, I go by TQ numbers more. In case your wondering why I made this statement about 385 not doing better then 325; I was actually thinking about getting either the 6.2 or the 6.8 before I got the 150, but when I started talking to the techs, they said it wouldn't be able to pull the loads(6.2) any better then a 6.0 could and I didn't go the v10 route because I didn't want to deal with 450s or 550s and everything those entail.

You also have to consider the surrounding truck as well. I've increased my engine's output by 200 hp, I would say that it hauls my loads better, but it isn't preportional to how much extra hp/tq that I've gained. I've gained alot more with just the overall driving of it then I have with the towing aspect. Don't get me wrong there have been improvements, but some of those improvements most people wouldn't know about if it came with additional HP/TQ from the factory. Also I can't haul any more weight then I could when I was limited to 325 hp at the flywheel.

I didn't know the official numbers had been released yet on the 6.2. Where did you get that?

Confirms no 20"s with 6.2L. Sux. They look SO much better with 20's.

Some of us old timers beg to differ. I still like 16's myself. I like the look of tall sidewalls.

That's one thing I never got into. My dad is more of a tire and wheel person and he liked how nice the stock ones are on the 2010 F-150 I just got. I could care less. I didn't really even pay attention to them.

As long as they do the application that they were designed to do that's all that matters.

I'm more impressed with the factory chrome wheels and the 16" 10 ply tires that came with the F-250 HD's of the mid 90's.

i hate the look of the 20"s... theres not enuf sidewall even if you go to bigger tires.

Problem with the 16"s and even 17"s is the brakes are too small and limit what you can do with the truck. Never mind the look and the boat like handling at corners.

I like 16" or 17" wheels also. The 18" and 20" wheels/tires look stupid to me, not enough rubber. Larger the wheel the more weight to sling around too.

Um, the 17" wheels fit over the larger brakes on the 2005-2010 trucks. The rotor diameter is only one part of the brakes anyway, the caliper is another huge part. You can have a 20" rotor but if you have a caliper off a Honda civic that big rotor don't do you much good.

Fine, but I was referring to the 2011s.

I think you'd find that the larger the wheel all else being equal, the lighter the total weight is. The rubber typically weights more than the aluminum wheel.
