My Shiny New Nuts With Pic
Well here's my shiny new nuts story.
I went to Ace hardware yesterday. As I walked in Candice (of course she goes by Candy) says “So Robin, what do you need today“.
“Shiny new nuts” I say. We have been known to flirt.
She says “Robin, we don’t shine nuts during business hours, but we can sell you some shiny new nuts.”
We are both trying not to laugh.
“I guess I‘ll just buy some shiny new nuts because I want to use them right soon and can’t wait till after hours to get my old nuts shined”.
By this time there are some customers who have caught most, if not all, of our conversation and they are trying not to laugh as well.
Candy says “Just what kind of shiny nuts are you looking for”.
“Why chrome nuts of course”.
She says “I figured you for a brass *****, Uh, I mean brass nuts kind of guy”.
That Freudian slip was all it took and everybody started laughing. I mean there were tears. Poor Candy was as red as a beet. First time I ever saw her blush. She usually makes me blush.
After the laughing died down a bit she led me back to the chrome hardware isle and together we picked out a pair of new shiny nuts, chrome they were.
Candy says “Put these in your pants, I mean pocket, and just walk out”.
I said “Does this mean no after hours nut shining”.
Laughing she says “Just go Robin, just go”.
So I left with a free pair of shiny new nuts. Not bad for spreading a little mirth.
Most fun I have had in a hardware store since the last time I was at Home Depot asking a female clerk what would be the best way to fill a hole. But that is another story for another time.
Lest I forget here is a pic of my shiny new nuts. They are holding my engine cover to my new engine cover bracket. Broke the original. New bracket courtesy “Clay of Note“. Thanks for the bracket Clay. I guess you didn’t have the nuts to use it on your rig.
Purty pair of shiny new nuts, don’t you think?
I know we all get tired of removing the cover to work under the hood but from now on, whenever I have to remove the cover, it will always remind me of Ace Hardware and my favorite clerk, Candy. I’m going to have to ask her about the after hours shining thing. And soon. Like today.
That's all folks, have a good day.

WHAT ? I can't think of anything that would cause this to happen? Can we get some examples? Might be my type of girl !..
Nice nuts and good idea. I will have to do that the next time i am there. I will use the same tactic and see if i can get a nut replacement for free. bling bling.. I lost a nut while hauling mulch last summer. It is laying on the side of the road someplace.
