Van vs Truck Diesel Differences

Are the differences between a E-van and F- pickup 6.9L only external? Both are similar years, one a E-350 bus conv and the other an F-250HD 4x4 pickup.

The motor itself is identical. There will be some minor differences externally ,like the dipstick. Nothing that will cause you a problem.

I have no experance with vans, but every thing I have read is internaly every thing is the same. Externaly the fuel filter mount, oil cooler, and one exhaust manifold [drivers side I think] are different.

Farmert are you thinking of a van or a school bus, I know these things are different on a bus with an allison but think a van is basically the same. I could be wrong though.
If the drivers side exhaust is different andit would fit in a pickup it would have to be an improvement.

I could be off, no experiance with a van either and none wanted. I hate working on vans.
I do know once you get it out of the van it is an easy swap.

I'm with Farmert. Things I read that are different are as mentioned. Specifically with the oil cooler the header is different and the tube is a little shorter IIRC.

Good! Some parts swapping from the original engine to the donor but that's it. Kinda what I figured. Thanks.

Oil cooler, E series oil filter leans to the rear, F series to the front from top to bottom.

Fuel filter location.

If I remember right, one of the exhaust manifolds, and for some reason I want to say passenger side.

All differences were external, so swapping a few parts will have you good to go.

engine mounts are also different. Power steering brackets are different if it has the saginaw pump. All f parts will fit right up.

I can maybe deal with taller if the width is good enough to go between the frame.

I am pretty sure I could come up with something better than that video, that was pretty presidential.
