smog pump removal necessary after egr delete?

i did an egr delete on my truck now i was wondering if it is required to get rid of the smog pump and charcoal canister too. i always here about people doing them together but no one ever said they did it because they had to becaasue they got rid of one or the other. if it is a good idea to get rid of the smog system how would i go about doing it and do i need to get rid of my cats to do it?

Not an expert but a lot of guys here remove the smog pump and leave the EGR system so if you want you could leave the smog pump.
Some guys gut the pump and leave it as an idler pulley, some guys fit a detete pulley and some just remove it and fit a shorter belt.
You do not have to remove the cats.
If you do a search here for "smog pump" you should get plenty of info.
Hopefully some of the experts will give an opinion also.

The smog pump blows air in the back of the heads and in the cats, it is in no way related to the EGR system. You can run them separately so you can keep the pump if you wish, but personally I'd have ditched that and the mess that is its plumbing, and left the EGR intact and operational. The charcoal canister is part of the tank vapor evac system, can be left intact separate from the smog pump and the EGR, and probably should be.
