anyone ever replace their leaf spring bushings? i have one thats real bad on my front leaf. i picked up a set of bushings made by energy suspension. are there any tricks to remove the old ones? thanks.
i replaced the shackle bushings in my 78 f250 a few summers ago. the bolts were rusted in so i used a sawzall to cut them off and then used a torch to burn the old rubber out. after that i used a pick and screw driver to fold the old sleeve in on it's self to remove it. then used a copper cleaning brush on a drill to clean the inside up. i installed polly bushing and used the assembly lube that they supplied to reinstall. hope this helps.
yes i did. it was'nt that bad. took them out and used a press.they came out in one piece...with the noise of the bushing gone,i can here my balljoint noise now. so thats next. i just would like to have it all done before towing/camping season starts. thanks for asking.
