been reading off and on for 3 years

I need a 4x4 crew cab
In Ontario they re ROTTEN,found a nice one.CHEAP

1993 crew cab 4x4 AUTO tranny shot has NO forward(can I fix this myself???(EO..) 7.3 removed

I own a 1984 2wd with the 4speed

Engine 6.9 has 400000km no leaks has old school banks turbo(rectangle box) really runs nice,20 liters of fuel will get me to Oshawa and back 120KM with a trailer pulling a bobcat,can t complain,I think my wife s Neon might come close in mileage.

I have been looking here(3 hours) there(2 hours) and many times over the years.

Can I ..
1- just drop the engine in? did you do it,any info?
2-repair the existing tranny,any nice upgrades to be done? I like a truck that works/pulls hard
2- instead of repairing the EO.. tranny can I use a ZF5(prefer standard)
3-will zf5 require too much MODS(pedals...)

Please let me know your wisdom,I would like to buy this Saturday.

yes you can swap in the 6.9, but i would use the 7.3 glow plug controller. it is a much better design. and yes you can put a ZF5 in it, many people do that. you will have to source a pedal assembly though and adapt the floor pan for the manual trans
