what to use on water pump bolt?

what to use on water pump bolt?

Im working on putting a new water pump back on my 87 351w what should I use on the bolts, 3 broke when I took it apart dont want to do that againI did clean all the threads.

uhm dont use anti seize they will back out if u do

just run them back in with nothing on them they will stay if u torque them right and u shouldnt need to change the water pump for a while

I used copper antisieze on mine and they never backed out or came loose

i have never heard of bolts backing out when using anti seize and properly torqued down.

especially water pump bolts.

I'd go with the anti-seize .. that is what it is made for .. you could check 'em again after a few days and make sure they're staying put, but I've never heard of them backing out ..

the handful that came off my accsy's when I tore down my motor that didn't break had anti-seize on them, and they were still tighter than a biatch ..

and I've always wondered how your supposed to properly torque some things when there is no way in hell to get a torque wrench in there in the first place

Poor man's anti-seize is motor oil, but that throws off torque numbers...

...and if you're a young, cocky sumbitch, you can call yourself the human torque wrench.

THE 87 IS ALIVE!

I for got how much I love this truck. Was talking about selling it. Cause who needs two trucks, but I love it! It should do better on gas than the 78. So it will be my daily driver tell I find a econo box.
