My '09 F250: 1 Year's worth of Mods

This month makes my truck 1 year old. It's hard to believe how time flies so quickly! I though I'd put together a few pics to show how my truck has evolved in just one year. And I found pics of the truck all in the same spot, at my local boat ramp so that you could hopefully see the differences easier. I love going down to the lake to be by the water. It's so peaceful out there...

Here it was stock, the day I bought in March of 2009.

Then, I added a set of 285/75/18 Wrangler MT/R Kevlars to the stock suspension in September 2009. You'll also notice a set of N-Fab running boards and a Tractor Supply low-profile toolbox.

Being that I can't leave well enough alone, I pulled the trigger on an Icon 2.5" lift in February 2010. By that time, I had alread ripped the huge lower valence off the front bumper and replaced it with the shorter valence found on 2wd Super Dutys. I also got the front windows tinted.

The only thing that's not so cool is how fast these trucks get tall, almost too tall. I can't imagine anything taller and still having much practical use of the bed! I parked next to a stock '02 2wd Chevy, and the heigth difference is amazing. Those trucks sit pretty low from the factory as it is, but this really takes the cake. A Ford Ranger sits higher than that!

Ok, I'm done now. Thanks for looking!

You have a really nice truck. How did you mount the KCs? Also, why did you replace the valance, for rubbing, for looks, why didn't you just leave it off altogether?

I mounted the KC lights right on the bumper. Probably not the cleanest, but the work well there and most importanaly, they don't vibrate around which drives me nuts!

I didn't like the "unfinished" look to the bumper without the lower valence. There are several spots where nuts and bolts are exposed. Other than looks, no particular reason at all.

Thanks, makes sense. I have the plastic bumper trim on the top of my bumper, but realize now that you don't.

Great work! How do you like the bumper lights you added on? Also what tires are you running? Those things are mean looking! Are they loud?
