82ford302- You've got me wanting to go check my mounts now........

460/5 - I just did a pull contest with an 82 F350 with a 460 dually, I won somehow, and I can't figure it out, but oh well, the kid was running his mouth, after he lost he came up, shook my hand and asked how much I wanted for my truck, i smiled and told him this victory has given me increased motivation NOT to part with the old girl (not that I needed any) I will NOT part with my truck for anything.

haha. dont get me wrong, i love the 460. obviously, otherwise it wouldnt be name, and i wouldnt own one. but i DO believe its fords single most overrated motor. and the 400 is the most underrated. which is part of why i love the 400 so much.

I had a friend (germanford390custom), he bought an 82 f350 dually and IT has the 400 (although he argued it has a 460, I know a 40 when I hear/see and drive one), and he ran off with the title and never paid for it, drove it like a mustang on the autobahn, I kept telling him to stop before it damaged something, and he didn't so he seized up the rear axle.

like i said, i got it from my uncle, who got it for my cousin to drive. he tinkered with it a bit, and then let it sit. till i bought it and picked it up, it hadnt moved in at least four years. my cousin swears up and down that its a 460... cousin, no, its not. its just that beastly.

Nice find. If the drivetrain is all good, that is worth $500.

thats an ambitious project but one worth doing, and not a bad price for a running and driving 4x4 dent,I would love to come across that deal here, but most of the 4x4 dents around here have been taken by the salty winter roads.
