what is a fair deal

i am looking at a 1997 f250 xlt crew cab 4x4 7.3 Diesel auto 160,000 miles new tires & breaks runs out good last year or 10,000 miles ago there was all new injectors put in and a new pump truck is nice paint is good a little dime size surface rust over one wheel well the only thing i can find wrong with the truck is it needs rear shocks as there our leaking. what would be a fair price for this truck buying from a friend any help would be great

Im going to go out on a limb and say depending on where you are located between 7500-9000. I know in Washington where I live thats what we would be expecting to pay. But other places you might see a beautiful truck go for 5k. That would be my ballpark though. hope this helps.

question is when was the tranny rebuilt last and did they build it to last or stock

I paid 7500 for my 96 with 170,000 miles on it otherwise same truck but with a couple small mods

I paid 5 grand for a 97 crew 4x4 short bed with new brakes , poor tires and a bad front end with 240,000 miles in Central California. I Southern California I would have paid 6 grand. Location is too important of a considerastion. Look at prices on Craig's list or similar to get an idea.

I bought one last night that sounds almost identical except the tires are worn and it has 177,xxx miles for 6200 private seller.

thanks guys well he we go had the truck checked out today found that the radiator support is rusted out and will not pass insp any one know what it would cost to fix this i would like to buy this truck she runs great and the reat of the frame looks good.
