75 F-150 vin number

Does anyone know why my 1975 f150 ranger XLT 4x4 would have a vin of an f100 did they not get different numbers until 76 or later or are the emblems wrong?

If the truck is an F150, the emblems should reflect that. F100 emblems were not used on F150's.

What are the first three digits of your trucks VIN?

Are you sure the GVWR is 6700 lbs? No 1975 F150 4WD had that high of a GVWR. Which label on the door did you get that info from?

The Warranty Plate that is riveted to the door face, or the white Safety Standards Certification Label that is glued on?

What are the first three digits of the VIN? What is the MODEL code found on the Warranty Plate?

I'll let numberdummy help you on this one. He certainly knows more than me. I'm fairly certain 6700 wouldn't be an f100 but don't know why the vin says it is. Do you know what rear end you have(Ford 9"/Dana 60)?

door plate: 133 RP F113 L 4 A 08J 06700? 1975 75

VIN#--- RP 75
The VIN has 11 digits, not 2. Like this, for example: F11YRV20,001.
MODEL code: F113 = F100 4WD / 5700 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

Compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate with the VIN on the registration to see if they match.

People swapped damaged left doors with used doors. 99% of the time, they did not install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.
