Replace actuating arm for neutral switch.

There was no way to install the piece of spring steel onto the shift column without dropping the steering column. So first unbolt the column and it still doesn't drop low enough to get to the installation point. Unbolt the seat and move it out the passenger door. Column is lower but still can't get enough force to snap the arm in place. Time to remove the column. Unbolted from the inside. Couldn't get a good grip on the outside bolts so off comes the brake booster. Finally got the column layed out on the tail gait and with a few experiments with a slinder socket to apply force the little bugger snapped in place. Back into the firewall with the column assembly. All going well except for snapping the shift linkage back in place. Gave up on that for the night. Need a rag joint kit for tomorrow and a rubber boot for the back side of the brake booster. All in all only one bleeding injury and daylight at the end of the tunnel!

Drilled holes for an OEM auxiliary battery tray, mounted the Cadillac 4-horn system, POR'ed the passenger-side battery tray area and the modified headlight buckets, and test fitted a number of other parts.

Stripped down my tranny today. The one way clutch failed and took the reverse planet along with it. The case was busted too!! I had another one that's been kicking around for years out of a 70 country squire wagon so I stripped it down and it looks good. I'm waiting on parts from Broader for the overhaul.

HELP!!!! 1977 250 starting

i have a problem with my truck running. it does start every time, but as soon as I let off the key it dies, I seems like it runs on the first cylinder or two. I have checked my coil and its good, and I am surely getting fuel. I read somewhere my coil resistor wire might be bad, but im not sure how to replace it or where its even at... please help me keep this thing on the road!! thanks

Kyle, welcome to the forum. You'll probably get better feed back by posting a new post rather than on the end of this post. As far as your ? goes, when mine did that it turned out to be the pick-up coil in the dizzy. The wires flex with the mech. advance and can crack with age and heat.

Check your solenoid. Last time I ran into a similar issue the coil would get power through the solenoid while the engine was turning over and cut off as soon as I stopped. Exactly as you describe.

Got a fellow FTE member to help (well he pretty much did it all, since we both could not fit in the fenderwell) with the 99 Ranger and install 4 new ball joints, fuel filter, plugs, wires....boring.

Who cares about a 99, I got to ride/make a open header fast lap around the parking lot in the 79 Earthquake! Sorry no "live action" pics, I was having to much fun to take any....lol

Thanks again Alan, you da man!

It was a pic the owner took a little bit ago, and posted on FTE after the new graphics went on. Like I said, I did not get any pics today. I imagine he stood on one of his other 79's to take it.

Installed a new battery and positive cable. Apparently, someone needed a battery and cable more than me. Then took the old license plates off and washed off about four months of dust. Put new "antique" plates on the truck along with license plate holders and a "vanity" plate on the front bumper since Texas only gave me one antique plate. Filled up the gas tank and went for a two hour drive with my wife and the truck!
