I love this thread! It's like the first day back to school LOL

Yesterday I had a new windshield put in Fi-Fi, I put on a new rear view mirror and windshield wipers, I played with a radio problem, I played with a loose ignition, and I cleaned her interior.

Drove the yellow truck to Mexico. The shop I had used previously to charge the A/C was closed, so I found a new shop.

The technician checked the system out, topped it off, and sent me on my way. In and out in about 15 minutes. Charge: 300 pesos. About $15

Sat in the border crossing line for about an hour. Kept an eye on the temp gauge. The needle moved onto the "200" but never past it.

Brought the truck back home and changed the oil and filter. Valvoline VR1 20w50 and MotorCraft filter. Drives well and blows cold.

I steam cleaned my gas tank, and re-installed with a new float, gaskets, fuel lines, and two filters. Got my truck started and ran it up and down the driveway to check out the systems. Now I cannot wait to road test the new beast.

Got a JY tailgate to replace my severely dented one and got it painted and installed.

I also got a 80's spare tire carrier and removed the spare tire from the bed and installed it under the gas tank.

Next thing is to work on the bed....not sure if I'm going to be able to tackle that or not. But we'll see.

Good score on the tailgate-it looks great!

That bed panel doesn't look too bad, and would probably be a good learning experience. Or you could just call it a "character line"

Repaired the ever failing linkage from the outside drivers door handle to the latch. Rednecked the door latch post with some garden hose and vinyl tape to tighten up the junction (only temporary). Replaced the vacuum pull off for the choke. Finished the day with some beers and elbow grease on the front clip.

Could you post a picture of that spare tire setup? I'm looking to move mine under the bed but not sure how I'm going to make it work.
