LMC truck grill

I watched one of those truck shows on sunday and they had a new LMC grill surround for the 78-79 f-150 that is made of a better aluminum and I think they even said chromed steel. I know surrounds are always a hot topic on here so if they can make them better than they used to I would buy one. If anyone here buys one let us know how they are. Thanks, Matt.

grille surround from lmc

I have bought the surround for my 79 150 and I really liked it for the price. I do agree that restoring an old surround is the best but as far as fit and finish the lmc surrounds and there inserts are suitable for a really nice restore!!! I would recomend!!

Gotta love misinformed drivel...

LMC Truck Parts - Page 55

I would think selling an all STEEL grille for $500 would create quite a few irate customers if it were just overseas junk.

They USED to sell cheap Chinese made junk, but at least stay with the times.

I think LMC sources from the lowest bidder and whoever has what they need. I have gotten identical sheetmetal, with one stamped VIETNAM and the other MADE IN USA.

As for those newest grilles I would assume (hopefully that doesn't come to bite me in one) those are held to a higher standard than the old $129 specials we are all used to seeing.

neither, that was the condition of the truck after sitting in my back yard for 14 years. The only thing i had already removed was obviously the front bumper, surround and grill

LMC added the two grilles in the last year or so. I would like to see more pictures of the chromed steel grille. They have a good return policy with paid shipping back.

Oh i thought you bought it in that condition then restored it.. kinda funny how things get just sitting around.. they deteriate more sitting then running.
