Added Dynamat to my interior...

Wow!!
By far the best mod I have done (besides DP) hands down. I was skeptical reading about everyone's success, but i can tell you, it is worth every minute of work.

I pulled the interior, dynamat over all metal, then added layer of jute to roof and floor and back wall. Also sprayed 'Great Stuff' expansion foam into every nook and cranny in the place...and added fiberglas insulation to the roof supports and where the seat belts are in the side panels.

I also added the excursion floor board panels at your feet. Going down the road, it is Lexus quiet...no road noise whatsoever!!! the only sound is the little noise out of the engine bay. It is so airtight and sound proof it is unbelievable!!! This is a must do!!

Here are pics:

Forgot: My stereo sounds incredible...it hits so much clearer! Pioneer deck, RF's 6x9's, 10" shallow mount sub, Alpine amp,.

Great job! Looks great Mako, I've thought about doing something like that but I don't want to make it where I can't hear the turbo whistle. Is that Dynomat expensive?

Looks great..."Dynomat" is pretty expensive, but there are some knock offs that work almost as well, for @ 1/3 less...but, "Dynomat" is by far the best...

And i'm diggin the guage pod under the storage comp., i like that better than the pillar pod...where'd that setup come from???

I used Raammat and the foam on mine. The Raammat works well, and the ensolite stuff is good too. If you play with the great stuff, don't put too much behind the cab. It tends to expand out the vents and leaves you with foam between the cab and bed that you have to deal with for several years.

Sorry for the clarity, they are iphone pics...

i got the dtnamat locally for 35% off, spent maybe ~$250 on it.

i have two gauge pods, the one below and a windshield mount, def prefer these than the pillar mount. look in my CP and you'll see pics of 'em

Pioneer AVIC D3 w/ nav, had it for about 2 yrs...love it

Dynamat made an unreal difference in my wife's Ranger we sold. That thing was Cadillac quiet and the stereo system she had was insane after the Dynamat install. Did you Dynamat and then install jute over it?

I'm trying to figure out the fiberglass part, could you please explain in more detail? What type did you use, how did you get it in there?
How many square feet of Dynamat did you wind up using?

I got a roll of plane ole R-13 wall batt insulation at Lowe's for $9. Tore it with my hands into pieces and started to shove...put i into the large crevices where the foam would have been obnoxious to use or where there was alot of wiring, mainly put it into the side pillars right behind your head. I used one box of (9) 4sqft pieces, and one box of (4) 4 sqft pieces. (it was exactly enough)

PS...I had already done the doors quite some time ago so their calculation is not in this...nor is the $ factor.

And yes, I put a layer of jute over the Dynamat on the floorboard, used 3M spray adhesive to make all the padding and jute stick.

Don't know if I covered that or not...
