Explorer 4.0 sohc dripping fuel from t/b

Explorer 4.0 sohc is making a knocking noise from the top and its dripping fuel from the t/b what can it be? I hear the knocking coming from the top area i checked the bottom and no noise. It was running fine and now its hard to start it and it starts and idles at 1500-2000 rpm. Oil pressure gauge reads fine any thoughts ideas?

I think you might have timing chain issues like this one im working on. It was a no start tho. The timing chain was so bad it couldnt start. Anyway, I could open the throttle and you could smell raw gas down in there. Well when i tore it apart, every cylinder was full of gas. I looked down thru the intake valve and while rolling the engine over by hand, i could see the gas being pushed back thru the intake valve cause most were bent. I think its cause it has no compression and they tried to start is so many times. I think you got a bad misfire causing unburnt fuel to accumulate.
