2wd mountaineer front bearings

Asking for a friend... How hard is it to replace the front bearings on a 2wd 03 mountaineer? Is it like a common rwd setup, where you pull the front tire, dust cap, cotter pin and castle nut and theres the outer bearing pull rotor off to get to inner bearing? or is it more involved like the rear bearings which we tackled a few mos back and needed a press, a few hours and Valium? I only ask as I can not find ANY info on the 2wd model just awd or 4x4. I have not even looked at it yet as it is rather wet here in Bama right now, and need to decide if I want to even take the time to look at it or just send him straight to the mechanic. Sorry for the long post...
