Mechanical Temp Gauge

Mechanical Temp Gauge
Give me your thoughts on my installation plans.
I have a 1996 460EFI engine in a motorhome. I'm planning on putting a 3/8 tee where the gauge temp sensor is located and attaching the mechanical gauge on one end and the original gauge sensor on the other end. This would mean the coolent would need to rise into the tee fitting. The lift would be about one inch. Do you all think it would work? Thanks Tom
