That's not too far off at all. There are no reproductions of the longer boards, and most boards have rusted holes in them. So finding a good pair can be one of two things: Time, or money. But I know nothing so...

bet they get the price. Agreed its a crazy amount of $$ for a pair of running boards. Considering the alternative of cheap, thin stamped repros (if made), they look like they're in pretty amazing condition for 55 years old.

Back in 2003 at the Supernationals, I found a single (driver side, I think) F-250 running board that had some surface rust and a couple of minor dings in it. The fella wanted $350 for it and I have to admit, I almost bought it. I had been looking for almost four years.

As the fellas have said, running boards for anything bigger than an F-100 (or F-1 I suppose) haven't been made in the past, at least up to about 2004. I don't know if there is anyone making them now, although it sounds like the fellas haven't found anybody who is.

I finally found a pair in really good shape from Chuck R. who wanted to do a fellow FTE member a favor, and boy, did he do me a favor. Chuck only charged me $125 for a PAIR!!! Party time!!!

I found one in OK shape about 10 years ago and paid $50 for it and it needed a couple of patches welded in on the ends. $750 is a bunch of $ as others have said, but decent ones are hard to find. I need to fix one and will probably cut patches and weld from two that have some rust holes in them.

Like the earlier '48-52 trucks, the boards for the larger trucks are hard to find. I suppose $500 isn't too bad but more than I'd pay. The seller might get the $500 but not much more. If this was a year or so ago I wouldn't try to guess the outrageous amount they'd bring but now the market seems pretty soft.

There's a set of '51-52 F-2 and larger fenders on the 'Bay right now that the starting bids $500 each, reserve not met with 0 bids. They aren't rust free fenders and I've never seen a set for the larger trucks go for more than $250 for a set when times were good and people had money to burn. I guess some people are dreamers.

Those fenders appear to be in pretty good shape. But I'd venture to say you'll see 7 to 10 sets of 51/52 F2+ front fenders for sale for every set of F1 fronts fenders.

I looked for 3 years and mine were about $650 ish (I forget exactly) three years ago. I was glad to get them at that price!

Julie, yeah, F-1 fenders are gold if you can find a nice pair but these are F-2 and don't even have the bottoms included. They've been worked on which is alway scary. I'd rather buy body parts without any previous patch work done on them so you can see what you're getting.
