Has anyone lifted a F250 Super Duty 2wd Truck?
I just purchased a 2004 F250 Super Duty Lariat 2wd truck. The vehicle is a low rider and I would like to lift it up but not sure what to do. I was going to install a 2" leveling kit but I think it needs more. Does anyone have information and/or photo's?
Thanks

I'm one Chris speaks of...
I can definitely school you on lifting a 2wd truck...
After 7 years and a lot of miles, mine looked like a low rider too.
The first question is: which motor do you have?
If you have a gas motor, the minimum is 4 inches.
If you have a diesel motor, the minimum is 6 inches, period.
Regardless of which motor you have, keep in mind that you don't have to buy new rims, just new tires. I've been running BFG All-Terrain 315s on the factory mags and haven't had a problem with my hubs going out or doing anything strange.
With a 4 inch lift on a gas motor, 285s fit nicely but you can go up to 305s without a problem.
With a 6 inch lift on a diesel motor, 305s look like crap and are entirely too small. (Take it from me, I know) The correct tire size is: 315/75/16, no more, no less.
Something you should also be prepared to do is regear. It strongly recommended as bigger tires not only reduce you fuel economy a good amount, but they also make it harder to get and keep your truck moving. The TorqShift transmission you have is a little more forgiving of bigger tires, but if you regear to 4.30, you'll have an effective ratio equal to that of the stock 3.73s.
This is a process that can take some time and can at times be frustrating; but with what I know, I'll make this as easy and as pain free as I can.
All aside, it's totally worth it and makes your truck ride way better than it did from the factory. It also looks more aggressive and will turn some heads...

I failed to mention a few things that are missing from the Pro comp kit:
The pitman arm, you'll more than likely have to purchase this seperately at 4wheel parts or an online vendor somewhere.
The Caster/Camber kit aka Alignment kit: The one that Procomp provides or offers is NOT the correct kit for the Super Duty. I highly recommend that you go to an alignment specialty shop othwise your tires will never be aligned properly.
Make sure you have everything tighened and re-tightened per Procomp's instructions!
Where to order from: DO NOT order anything from 4wheelonline.com! They have horrible customer service and they are NOT a company you want to do business with. I know first hand...
They shipped me the wrong kit, then tried to charge me to ship it back, when they did ship me the correct kit, parts were missing and were backordered! My salesperson NEVER called to let me know there was an issue, much less do anything to fix the problem. So what should have taken no more than a week and a few days to fix, took almost a month! I repeat DO NOT buy ANYTHING from 4wheelonline.com
Tire recommendations: BFG All-Terrains are my tire of choice, they're everywhere so if you have a flat or a problem, you'll be back on the road much sooner than later. They have an aggressive tread, but have great on-road manners. I.e. I can't get these tires to let go of the road wet, dry, or muddy!
Toyo Open Country ATs are also good if you can find a retailer that carries them.

Im also thinking of lifting my 2wd, getting tired of the stink bug look.
The Fabtech kit is what was looking at. Didn't know anyone else made one.
Try doing a search in this or the 99-03 diesel forum. Someone posted some pics of their 2wd with the 6" Fabtech lift, I just cant remember where I saw it....

Anyone else got some pics of a lifted 2wd? I'm thinking of not doing the DRW or 4wd conversion and doing a 6" ProComp lift with 35x12.50x17s, 4.30 ring and pinion, and a Detroit locker. I've never had such a hard time deciding which mods I want to do to a vehicle...

What?
How does that have anything to do with me asking if anyone has any more pictures?
And how do you know that I might not like the tire size I chose better? The difference is an overwhelming 1/2" (approx.).
I read the post where that person stated their opinion on what is best, now I was hoping to see more pictures of 2wd trucks with 6" of lift and 35ish inch tall tires so I can decide if I like the look or not.
