Mustang tank conversion

Trying to wrap-up my Mustang tank conversion. This article was extremely helpful... thanks guys!

My tank is going in an F1, not an F100 as shown in the article. I went with the 22 gallon tank for the 1970 Mustang. We built the frame, and were preparing to install it underneath the truck frame as shown, but I realized that this configuration leaves the tank hanging low beneath the truck, and is quite visible, even with the bed installed. I think we're going to let the tank frame ride up in the truck frame channel, even though this will put the filler neck up closer top the bed, I don't think it will be a problem.

The other problem is that my truck still has the bed on it, and I can't really slide the tank and tank frame up in the truck frame channel with the bed on it. Not a big deal in the overall scheme of things, but it also means that the bed will have to come off (or loose) in order to remove it.

I'll post some photos once we get it sitting in there. Anyone have any words of wisdom?

I was thinking that you could slide it inside the frame from the rear……… if the rear crossmember was removed but I think the lower area under the tailgate is in the way. I think you’re hooped!

Not a problem. We'll "git 'er done" tomorrow.
