Be careful.
That transmission is heavy.

You'll want to take the seat out first thing. For sure take the bellhousing off, either with the trans or after, and use an engine hoist to reach in and pluck that trannie out of there.

No seals between the engine/bell/trans. While you're in there, you can assess the condition of everything, but you are best off replacing the disc, pilot bearing, pressure plate, and release bearing. I'd expect this has a 11" clutch, but verify before ordering.

Good luck! If you get stuck or give up, I know a guy up in Napa (no not the auto parts place) that could likely do the whole job if he has the time.

A floor jack will definitely come in handy as will jack stands. an alignment tool is inexpensive. A couple good sized drain pans and large bag of cat litter or speedy dry will help keep any messes from getting out of hand. Things to replace: front and rear tranny shaft seals, throwout bearing, pressure plate and disk, reface or replace flywheel if it has ridges you can feel with your finger nail and/or heat discoloration and checks (fine surface crazing) Check the engine rear main bearing seal for leakage. Tranny: flush thoroughly and examine shifter forks and all gears for excessive wear and/or chipping.

Be sure to drain the transmission before you remove the drive shaft. Let it drain for awhile SAE 90 is slow flowin!
