1955 Blinker Question

I started tearing down the dash / head unit on the 55, was thinking of restoring it vs going with after market. I noticed something that was puzzling, the unit has what I'm thinking are blinkers, there is a left and right green arrow on each side of the unit at the bottom. Did the 55 have blinkers? perhaps flashers and not blinkers?

All 53-56 instrument panels had them. Turn signals were a factory option. If the turn signals were not installed at the factory tape was put behind the red arrow indicators. The factory installed turn signals even had a cancelling unit in the cup below the steering wheel. If turn signals were added at the dealer, then the unit was mounted on the steering column.....

Depending on the years, series' of trucks, dealer installed T/S switches may not be the same as the factory installed T/S switches.

Turn signals were an option...at least thru 1963.

Turn indicators in the dash, whether the truck had signals installed or not, began in Ford trucks in 1951.
