Check Engine light

What would cause the Check Engine light to kick on at about 5000 when accelerating. I have a High Flow Filter, JET Chip cat-less high flow Exhaust.... MSD Blaster Coil. Its a 1993 F-150 5.0 - non MAF..... AOD. Any ideas?

I know a 5.0 can goto 6k max.... but not sure of the full specs of the 93 5.0.... Power band and such. I dont do it too much. Wish I could find a 4.10 posi for it, or maybe convert to a 5 speed

Hello, i am new to this forum and to fords, so i am NOT trying to thread jack.
My 89 f150 has a 5.0 and wont go past like 4500 to 4700 R's and it starts to break up. Is this normal??? or do you have work done to your motor to get those kind of rrr's .
