Who here has blow up a front hub Bering?

I know it's off topic but I know some of us just stay down here in the 7.3 fourm
Well I can say I did I have been trying to figure out where this high pitched squealing noise has been coming form and I think I found my culprit. The bearings are chewed up bad and it looks like it just ran out of grease in there. When i separated the hub form the axle I had stuff fall out that I thought was just mud nope it was metal shaving's
Here are some pics of the carnage

So Is OEM the best for this or is there an after market hub that is better?
Thanks
Nick

I just replaced mine a month ago. I went to NAPA (not sure if you have NAPA there) and they had two options. I bought the more expensive ones. The package I got had the studs, nuts and o-rings included already. It looks like the Amazon ones don't. On the other hand, I had expected to have to buy the studs and o-rings separate, so if it was me, I'd probably go for the Amazon ones and order the studs and o-rings at the same time. If you can't find studs, you can remove the old ones and reinstall them if you want.

When my hub went I got a kit that included new o-rings from powerstrokeshop.com, they had a really good price too!

The unit bearings are all GARBAGE. I spent the$$(not list of course) and went w the DYNATRAC set up. Now i can use regular bearings and actually grease them and check them.

Here is their page Dynatrac

Nick.. if you get a new hub they will ask you if you have corse threads or fine threads... Thats the 2 options there is... They are referring to the threads for your wheel studs... So take a wheel nut down with you and make sure its the right thread !

The worse thing is all of these kits are for SRW and not DRW I thought that they would be the same and you just bolt the dually front adapter on.

Be prepared for those studs to not want to come out. Most folks who do this just get the studs. It's not worth the effort trying to remove the old ones for the price of new studs.

Been there done that, got the one without the studs. Go ahead and spend the few dollars extra and get the kit with the new studs. It is an absolute PITA to remove the old ones and reseat them in the new unit. Especially on the side of the interstate......
