Injectors Injectors Injestors!!!!

OK well i have a 97 f350 powerstroke with an edge chip. i have been looking a putting bigger injestors in my truck. ive been looking at rosewood diesel and their DIY injector kits. what i was wondering was is how much difference there is between a Stage 1 and a Stage 2 injector. Also i was wondering wit a Stage 2 kit will i need to upgrade my turbo and add an inter cooler or will i be able to keep it stock. i do a great deal of towing so i would like to know wat u guys think i should go with on my truck. Thx alot

Now, now... easy big fella. not saying don't let him know to get a valair clutch, but be smoother about it man!!! haha. u don't get many chicks do u??? i mean as smooth as you are... hahahaha

to the question at hand. if you tow a lot and don't want to upgrade to an intercooler i would say stage 1's will do you good. its always a good idea to add an intercooler though b/c even with stage 1's you will get hot towing. and you might look into getting custom tuning like Tony wildman, DP-Tuner, or Power Hungry Performance.. when i switched from the edge evo to the wildman it was a whole new animal. it was a night and day difference. long story short the edge just sucks. LoL. Now, depending on which SBC clutch you got you might get some slippage with custom tuning and stage 1's or 2's. if this occurs i would look into a valair clutch. they are very very good clutches and are a lot nicer on your wallet and the guys over at valair are SUPER people. Dan will go great lengths to make sure ALL of his customers are happy like a few of us have seen him do.

Valair standard organic clutches are pretty cheep, and all usa made.

South bend has always been a good clutch, but I haven't heard of anyone buying them for a long time.

If you want a LOT more power and tow a lot you should do Stage II's, intercooler, and a H2E turbo setup.

If you just want more power and good towing without a big investment, Stage I's, a better chip like PHP (Which Jim at Rosewood sells), or TW or DP Tuner. Also a Intercooler is ALWAYS a good idea...

AB codes i think were split shots, but if your going to get them all AB and put in single shot parts then they will work. they are the same injector body.. not sure about mixing AB's with AA's..

Whatever you decide to do, lose the edge and get a real EDGE with a real chip. Funny how much edge gets trashed here vs the other forums. They seem to work ok on the other stuf but on our they screw things up more than they help. Good thing Jims our sponsor instead of them or they'd have to get a different forum.

Nope, I have all autos. Out of curiosity, what is the price difference?

To the OP:
Stage-2 are about 50 hp more than Stage-1. That's actually quite a bit and you will definitely want to upgrade your trubo, fuel system and add an intercooler. The 'cooler is always a good idea when towing, even with Stage-1.
For me and my daily driver, I have Stage-1 and the power increase in that is amazing. I tow, too, and Stage-1 are enough of an increase for me, I don't have any plans to upgrade anything else, either.

Also, plan on upgrading your HPOP regardless of what injector mod you go with. The stock HPOP just isn't enough for Stage-1's either.

Oh, and loose the Edge! Or maybe get PHP to reburn it with their tunes, I think they can do that...

PHP can reburn with their tunes on the EVO.

Jim, the South Bend single mass conversion con OFE for OBS trucks that was almost equivalent to my last clutch is around $900. i will not say what i spent on mine, but it was significantly cheaper. the clutch kit with out the flywheel from South Bend is around $700. This also says its good for 475 hp. my clutch i believe is good for 600hp so i can launch with it without grenading the clutch. Valair lists this full ceramic(600hp) for $502.64. then add in $222 for the flywheel and you got the full kit. now that is $24 more than a Southbend kit without a flywheel. and around $200 less than a Soundbend kit with a flywheel and with the valair you get an extra 125hp of holding power.. the valair kit with out the flywheel is $200 cheaper as well. i don't know bout y'all but i can do some other things with $200.. haha
