Bars Rad stop leak, bad or good idea?`
#16
Small can is 2-3 oz. I think. When pepper hits the leak, it flash dries in place from the heat. I have never timed it for holding power but it usually lasts long enough to sell the vehicle!!

both bars leak and the pepper trick work. BUT... and i say it again BUT... they are a band aid fix. they do not repair the problem properly. they are not a long term fix. i have seen this magical "mechanic in a bottle" type repair used lots. it gets you home in a pinch. but it is only a last resort fix (when there is no other option,)in my opinion.this sort of fix Does clog up the cooling system everywhere. NOT just the leak you are trying to seal. it restricts the cooling flow in the cooling system everywhere, starting with the smaller flowing channels first. like the rad, heater core, between cylinders in the water jackets and heads, etc. this can cause the engine to over heat.in my opinion i would not use it . it only causes problems later. in other areas that could cost more to repair. just my opinion.

When your pressed for money, you'll try any bandaid that gets you buy. I've used the egg trick in the rad to get me buy. Thats where you put a raw egg in the rad and it hardens at the leak. Sure it's just a temperary fix, but it will buy you some time. Desperate times calls for deserate measures !!!!
