1997 Exp. ABS brake bleed problem

I just had to replace all my steel brake lines on my 1997 exp. After I was done went to do a bleed and no pressure builds when truck is running, builds pressure with truck off but disappears when started. Changed M/C but always had suspicion it was air in ABS. Have read here that needs to be bled on a scanner, so I bought an actron plus Cp9410 OCB II but it gives no error messages. Will this scanner do it? Is scanner bad?

What system do you have, four wheel ABS or the Rear ABS? If it is the RABS then you have to bleed the module on the left frame rail after the rears.
The problem you describe does sound like air still in the system.

Reg ABS

I have 4wh ABS this system has been bled , bled, bled and rebled and I can't get rid of air. It shows straight fluid period and I've read on the web that the only way to bleed abs is while on a computer or (hopefully scanner)

You then have true ABS. As I understand it with later systems (Mustang `99on and GM) you do have to cycle the ABS solenoids if the ABS unit has been drained or replaced. The scanner cycles the solenoids for about a minute and then it instructs you on what wheel to bleed until all four are done.
However I would think that on your system normal bleeding should do the job. Have you tried bleeding it with a pressure bleeder? I have heard that a pressure bleeder is the way to go with ABS. Not big $ to buy and only a few $ to make.
