I like the caption about derating the engines down to 240. Sure wouldn't want those unsafe truckers out there going too fast, eh?LOL

The N 1000 series trucks came from the factory with a single axle. Only the 850's and 950's had a tandem axle. The N series truck pictured is a 66 or 67 model and never had the 855 Cummings. The 743 CI 220 was the biggest Cummings you could get for those two years. The 855 didn't come along for the N series until 1969.

Are you sure about that? The NHC 250 is 855.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Ford-N-Short-Conventional-Cab-Truck-Brochure-152443-ER8MSP-/350751920140?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51aa71900c

I need help identifying this 1966 Ford Truck

This looks like a specialized production vehicle for something. I bought it cause I think its unique and will be fun. Not only for me but my 17yr old son has all sorts of "plans".

But I need some help identifying what this was, is . Loods to me like a 1966 ford F-600, heavy axles, 4X4.

I have a friend with a 69 model that has the 250 and thus the reason for my thinking. Thanks for pointing that out. It is never my intention to miss lead anyone.

That is a cool looking truck.
Would ya start a tread on it in the 66 forum? And post the vin so we can see what it left the factory as. I see a lot of potential there.

C700 box converted to a vac truck

Hey Guys,

I am fairly new to this forum and would like to share photos of my truck, but can't seem to figure out how to post pics. I uploaded them to my album, but can't get them in a post.

In the posting rules box in the lower left corner it says I cannot post attachments. How do I change this?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

don't know anything about these other than the haul gravel from the quarry in dell rapids, sd.

sorry for the poor pic, but this is the best i was able to do so far.

an educated guess would be north of 300k gross when loaded, because at 200k we only need 13 axles here in SD. if i ever get the chance i'll ask a driver if i ever see one hauling onto a project.

If that's an 18k steer axle, he's good for 245k by Michigan standards. But ya, a lot of tires. Could he actually load those sidedumps up to that weight with rocks?
I guess that's what you would call a "super duper" B train?
I'm not sure if we could do that here, or not.

No problem at all. I've never dragged over an 11 axle, let alone a trailer with that setup. Those aren't used for the most part here, seems to be a western thing. It would be interesting to know what his max GVW is. I may be wrong, but I always thought us here in Michigan had the heaviest allowance. We are permitted to 160k, although our heaviest multiaxle, an 8 axle with 1-9' spread, is good for "only" 159k. We have two of those setups, I drag one of them pretty much daily. Believe it or not, and I feel funny admitting this, I have been as high as just under 175k, that was NOT intentional, and we usually aren't overweight.
Here's the axle limits for Michigan, if anyone is interested:WasteWatcher-Michigan Weight and Axle Load Limits

1987 F800 Hauler

Here's a few of my 1987 F800 with 60" Stand up sleeper, Road Ranger 10 Speed and hauler bed. Had the 7.8 240 HP motor around 10,000 miles on the motor. Air Ride seats, Air ride rear,24.5 Alcoa Wheels and tires Old truck needs TLC and will get it over the next year. Will replace or rebuild anything that needs work on it. Rewire everything that has been hacked over the years. 300 Gallons of fuel on board
Plans are to use it to run cross country with our 41ff 5th Wheel camper. Truck is not a race truck, but pulls like there's no end in site. Being it was build when even the Interstate speed limits were still 55 MPH it was built for pulling a load. May turn the RT6610 trans into a RTO6610 back to the dash for high gear and Haul Butt.
Need to find info on taking the dash out of one of these, as it will come out and do any wiring or air line issues under there. Wil also be removing the Big fuel tank off the bed also.

Pint after a little work and colorback . Will be painting it later to match our camper.

Will be towing this with it.
