I learn something every day on here. Didnt know Ford had any experience in building diesel engines. Thanks for the heads up John. That makes me a little less leary of their ability to pull it off. Am like you and will sit back and wait to see how they do.

That would be great! I understand some concern over fuel mileage but I really don't think any of us ever bought these trucks thinking they'd get the mileage of a VW diesel Jetta. They're trucks built to work and if it costs me a little more in fuel to accomplish what I need to get done, so be it. I don't see how it is going to provide a really significant savings between 3.73 and 3.55 or 3.31 anyways.

 

Is it true the 3.73 is available in '10 with the Cabela's package?

 

No, you can only get a 3.73 rear with the 5.4L gas engine. It's not an option on the diesels. The lowest gear is the 3.55
