any studded winter tires in 18" ??

I hate chaining up in winter but with this 2008 Sd I need at least studded winters to get in and out of the house from mid Dec to early May.

tire shop here tells me there are NO winter studdable tires made for the 275/70/18 tire size on the 2008 SD CC 4x4 I have.

any suggestions from folks I am willing to listen!

a different 18" tire is fine , I dont care if I have to go up or down to get the studs but would like to keep the rims I have, can't afford another set for winters.

thanks all chains are the cheaper route but I can't physically chain up and down all winter long and get tired of calling my wife to come get me up the driveway with her durango

You can get the goodyear duratracs in the factory size and I think they are pre- pinned for studs.

beautiful!

thanks, if I can give the shops a name to look for they are better off, they simply said no winter tires come up in that size. Now they have one to search for , thanks a million

General Grabber AT2's also come pre-pinned for studs.

They are a farly aggressive all terrain tire.

I am running non studded AT2's year around right now.

They are not a "winter" tire, but they have the extreme condition rating (mountain snowflake)

thanks Jason, the tirewarehouse i like to deal with in town (know the guys) were unable to get anything studdable for me in 18"

they ere not sure if it was a minor glitch with change of ownership of TW there or a sign of the times.

suggested I go tirerack.com route and they'll mount them if I can get them...TR had 2 tires available put think they'll have them back in stock by end of Nov, which would be good since we have ski slopes open now, big storm slated for Nov 25th-28th, guess when my tires will come...29th! HA!

thanks for the help guys, always a good bunch on here
