6.4 losing power

I have a 2008 F-250 6.4 that loses power after it has set at a idle for a while. Then as soon as you turn the engine off and right back on it is back to normal power. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

sounds like a lot of idleing. That is hard on this motor and will gum up your EGR valve.

did you do the high idle mod?

Idleing times of 3 to 5 min. like in a drive thru. And loses power somtimes when running at a steady speed like 65mph for 30 min. and when you push it on to floor thier is no response. Then as soon as you recycle the ignition plenty of power again. I'm not familiar with the high idle mod I don't think. Thanks

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that a sticky EGR valve would activate the CEL and store a code. Furthermore shutting it off and restarting it would do nothing to clear the valve that it wouldn't do on it's own during the course of normal engine operation.

wv man, when you mention there's no response at 65 MPH after cruising for 30 minutes, does the transmission downshift when you floor the pedal? Or does it simply do nothing?

If it does nothing at all and doesn't set the CEL, I bet it's something wrong with your fuel pedal sensor.
