Decoding F3 VIN??
Hello ,
I'm looking to buy this F3 and wanted to know if this is the VIN and can someone decode it?
97HY 168145
The truck is very solid with the original flat head 6 in it and appears to be just about all original and unrestored. Just doesn't have the two piece rims but they are 8 lugs.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to all of you who follow this thread.
My resolution is to get my 1949 F3 on the road. Right now it is hibernating in my "tent-garage" waiting for spring while I work on small stuff in my heated shop.
Thanks to all of you who have given good advice during the past year.

Newbie
It looks like it's been awhile since anyone posted here, but I'm new and really needed the info on the rims and brakes. Bought myself a '52 F3 as a Christmas present and am in the process of taking it all apart so I can put it all back together again! It has the 215 L6 with 3 speed on the floor, runs and drives, doesn't stop too well; at least it didn't before it moved onto the floor jacks in the garage!!

bobj49f2,
It was owned by West Penn Electric from 52 to 59, and then bought by the family I bought it from. You can see the spotlight on the roof, there are some bolts thru the roof on the passenger side that I think was probably a ladder rack, and the box had arched steel pieces across it with a canvas cover like a wagon train wagon. The tailgate is kinda cool, too.

Keep thinking that, it's the only way you're going to justify the time and money you're going to stick into the truck.
