I was going to weld in some sheet metel to replair my floor on my 49' f2 but then ran into this situation: the front mounting bolt. How was this area reinforced from the factory and how can I repair it.

The bottom of this part is the first body mount (firewall)
The top is the body mount next to the front door piller
the part that sticks up welds to the door piller.

No kidding, if the other side looks that bad, find another cab, either to cut out pieces of or to replace your cab. You could spend 50 hours rebuilding those areas without even trying, maybe 100. That is the main cab support and door pillar support, that's where it all comes together. There are some good pictures of what is needed in Roger's posts (RCAV8OR) :

Mount

Thats a tricky looking piece and......looks like I would have to remove the cab to replace it. The front of the tongues (where it mounts to the frame in the engine compartment look ok, its were it comes in to the cab that its bad. I assume this bracket sits on top of the floor board. What would be a good inplace repair? Also, where can I get those brackets?
