I'm not an electrical guru, but you need to find a diagram of the wiring circuit. Then wait until it starts acting up and check the wiring with an ohm meter to look for a short. Either that or stick the meter on and wiggle the wires down the full length (kind of hard to do) to check for an intermittent short.

Take a look at the wiring that passes through the rubber boot inbetween the door jamb and the door. There may be a wire that is making and breaking contact on you.

why not test the electrical connections when it's acting up (with a multimeter), and if they are good then it's the motor. I had a Camry with a motor slowing dying that would go down, but usually took an hour (and ten tries) to get it back up...

go to autozone and get a new motor then you can take that out of the equation.

The power window wiring gets power from the drivers side switch, then runs to each door from there. Make sure you don't have a loose plug or chaffed wire on the drivers side too.

Try to wiggle the fuse for it when it is not working. This happened to my Dad and drove him crazy trying to figure out what was going on. The female part of the fuse connection was not making good contact. I guess it was expanding and contracting a little probably based on temps.

Maybe try to lubricate the side rails. Forgot what they use. Maybe the motor is getting weak.
